A Romantic Lake Michigan Wedding
Andrew + Jessica had one of the most romantic wedding days I've experienced to date. From their first look on the shore of Lake Michigan, to their real and emotional vows, we were in awe of this day and who Jessica and Andrew are as individuals and a couple.
In Jessica's own words, here is their love story:
We met almost 5 years ago through friends in college and it’s been the most amazing adventure since. When we first met, we were both at the point in our lives where we were independent and looking to “find ourselves” I guess is how I would put it. And along the way, we found each other. It started out as nothing serious but it didn’t take long before I knew he was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. I was immediately drawn to his sense of humor. He continues to make me laugh everyday. I whole-heartedly believe that we were meant to find each other. He is my other half, my best friend, and my soulmate. And I can't wait to call him my husband! We love to travel. Last September we went to Venice, Italy which is where he proposed. It was the most romantic and special moment of my life!
I work as a nurse and it has always been my dream to serve our veterans at the VA medical center. A couple of years ago, I was offered a position there. However it was third shift, which wasn’t the easiest. We didn’t see each other as much and I was always tired. But Andy knew it was my dream job and supported me the whole way, and a year later I was able to move to first shift. We also moved to Kenosha about a year and a half ago when Andy got offered a job promotion in Illinois. By putting each other first, we have really been a team. Together we have been able to make our dreams come true.
I always pictured myself having a summer barn wedding. However, we really wanted to do something different than everyone else. For that reason and the timing of our engagement we decided on November 4th, 2017. We looked at many venues, but we both knew Circa on Seventh was “the one” when we walked in. It is an old theatre in downtown Kenosha that has been renovated. It has exposed brick walls and 22’ ceilings, along with a balcony. I love the rustic feel of it and it came highly recommended by a friend. It was perfect for our big day!
