A Downtown Milwaukee Wedding | Short Film | Maggie and Ben
Maggie and Ben had a small wedding in downtown Milwaukee at the Cuvee. It was intimate and romantic, but also fun and upbeat! We even took a trip to Kickapoo Coffee for a pick-me-up between portraits and the ceremony.
When asked about their wedding day, Maggie and Ben had these thoughts to share:
How do you describe your wedding day to people when they ask how it was?
We didn't go the traditional route for a reason, we wanted our day to be intimate and personal to us and I think that that's exactly what it turned out to be. I think if I could describe our wedding day, it would be laid-back, warm, and genuine.
What was your favorite part of the wedding day?
Something that I was freaking out about the most, which was reading our vows. I'm not a public speaker, and I'm not very good at sharing my feelings, but at that moment it felt so natural. We were reading our vows to one another and nothing else in the room mattered. Our ceremony in general was so heartfelt because Benny's godfather did such an amazing job.
Were there any funny memories you still laugh about from the day?
We still laugh at the dance floor! The DJ did a great job of playing a wide variety of music in the beginning, but it turned real quick when it got past 10:30 We still talk about how people had such a fun time dancing!
Do you have any advice for people who may be planning their wedding now?
The biggest thing I regret was not writing a to-do list or a packing list. I forgot some pretty important things for both the wedding and for the photography that would've been nice to have on the day. If you're getting ready somewhere other than your home, or you have some cool photos in mind that you want, write them down! On the day, you'll have so much going on that you will most likely forget!
